THE TRADE SAMPLE PROOFS

About 1870 the American Bank Note Company produced a sheet of stamps illustrating the quality of their work. This sheet was distributed by the salesmen of the company. These sample sheets were printed on thin bond paper and were printed in colors that were quick to fade or wash off. Five of the values of the 1865 issue of Newfounland were included.
